Maternal Mental Health:

I am trained and precertified in Maternal Mental Health. I have years experience working with mothers and fathers struggling with post partum depression and anxiety. I understand the journey of being this person and how it can paralyze you. The intrusive thoughts of doing something harmful is a painful and lonely admission. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with other tools to support the parent in restructuring the negative thought patterns and intrusive thoughts.

Anxiety:

Anxiety and panic casts shadows on so many people especially since the start of the Pandemic. Our lives have changed and it’s time now to start working through the anxiety and the change it created. I work with persons struggling with negative thought patterns using “reframing” techniques, as well as other cognitive behavioral techniques. Listening and providing support, being that ear and validation can create a positive caste over someone who has seen little light in a long time.

Mood Disorders:

Dark and dreary our lives have been when we doubt who we are, what our successes have and have not been and how difficult moving through this puddle of mud has been. I use a lot of tools to help persons struggling with depression and encourage activation of daily activities to start the progression forward.

ADHD:

As adults we may have been passed over when it came to how we struggled in school…perhaps we were given a label that made us feel badly about ourselves. This seems to be a common theme these days with adult diagnosed ADHD. I am here to provide support and tools to assist in the day to day .

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker originating in California. I am now licensed in ten states as an independent clinical social worker. I am licensed in California, Vermont, Arizona, New Hampshire, Florida, Virginia, Ohio, Texas, Indiana, and Maryland. I have obtained many of these licenses so I can continue to work with my clients as they have moved out of my initial licensed state.

I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work. I earned my degrees at Arizona State University in 2003.

I have over twenty years working in the field of mental health including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, crisis mobile teams, and crisis hotlines.

While also working in mental health I worked in the emergency department of many trauma centers as a social worker providing mental health intervention and crisis care. I have been and seen it all.

I have significant knowledge working with adults experiencing mental health crises.

I have completed all my training to test of the Perinatal Mental Health Certification, I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, PTSD focused CBT and anger management.

My approach is humanistic where I work with each client differently using approaches that work best with their concerns. I am very disarming and compassionate. I have learned through my years of medical social work how to really connect with a person in crisis understanding their crisis is their own and I am never one to take that away from that person.
